I offer introductory Carriage driving lessons on quiet roads/tracks in and around Newton Arlosh, Cumbria.
Private tuition for one-2-one.
You will learn how to:-
- Harness up, naming the parts of the harness and their uses.
- Put to the vehicle with discussion on fit and options.
- Go for a drive, and learn about balance and rein handling, with a chance to have a go for yourself.
- Return to base to unhitch and remove the harness.
- In further lessons you can harness and hitch up yourself, enabling more time for driving practice as well as driving different horses
Newton Arlosh is located on the Solway Firth in Cumbria 14miles West of Carlisle
Lessons for one person £30 / hour

Why not come for an all day lesson and enjoy a day out at the same time? Start your morning learning about harness and how to put it on the horse, you will learn about different types of vehicles & how to hitch up. You will then drive out on our quiet roads, or we might also load the wagon up and go upto Caldbeck for a quiet drive.
